Lily Head | Neo Soul artist. Multidisciplinary healer. A child of the world.
Backstage before her first New York show, Lily Head is wearing her Crown like she was born in it — which, in a way, she was.
"I was born doing what I do today," she says, and she means it literally. Since she was a child, Lily has been inventing worlds — writing music, building stories, creating whatever came to mind. There was never a version of her life where this wasn't the plan. "There has never been anything that could stop me from living the life I came on this earth for."
Born in Belgium to Guadeloupean and British roots, Lily doesn't call anywhere home in the traditional sense anymore. "At the moment, I'm actually a child of the world," she tells us. "My home is my essence, and I travel where my gut feeling leads me." Between cities, between chapters — always moving toward whatever calls her next.
She describes herself simply as a multidisciplinary healer who finds her purpose in music, books and building community — and that sense of purpose runs through everything she says about her path.
"My purpose is to inspire positive change through healing and transformation. My strength is my ability to alchemise anything into a tool of growth — and find ways to empower others along the way, through various forms of art."
The road here wasn't a straight line. Lily speaks openly about the sacrifices — starting alone in a new city, facing rejection, the quiet ache of sometimes feeling invisible. "You really have to love the art to a level of delusion and worship to be able to push through," she says. "But it's also the beauty of it. It's so deeply ingrained that nothing could ever keep me away from it."
What's striking is how she defines success. Not in outside validation, not in milestones anyone else would recognise — but in something much more internal.
"My major milestones aren't defined by external factors, but more in proving to myself that I'm always able to get back up in this journey — and find new ways to bloom and present myself to the world as an artist."
It's a lesson she carries beyond music, and one she wants to pass on to the women watching her story unfold.
"Your actions define who you become, and who you become shapes your environment. Your environment is a reflection mirror. You get to decide, through every action, how you want to shape your reality. Nothing is too much if it's aligned with what your soul desires. You just need to keep walking towards it."
From a childhood spent inventing worlds to a stage in New York City, Lily Head's story isn't one of arrival — it's one of continuous becoming. And that, more than anything, is what makes her a Malka Queen.
