October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a vital reminder of the importance of early screening and detection. For us, it is also an opportunity to honour the strength of the organisations that support women throughout this challenging ordeal. The creation of the Malka Crown has allowed us to forge precious links with associations whose mission is to help women reclaim their self-confidence.
We have compiled a list of the three organisations with which we have had the honour of collaborating, all of whom recommend our Crowns to their members. Discover them and learn how you can contribute to this movement of hope.
1. Black Women Rising
The Black Women Rising cancer support project was founded in 2019 by award-winning community champion Leanne Pero MBE, following her own breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 30.
During her journey, Leanne recognised a serious lack of culturally appropriate cancer support services. As she investigated further, it became clear that the voices and experiences of cancer patients from her community were largely absent from mainstream media and reputable annual cancer campaigns.
Their Mission: By creating safe spaces and visually amplifying real voices through education, awareness, storytelling, and outreach initiatives, Black Women Rising aims to equip its members with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to navigate their cancer journeys positively.
Our Support: A few months after the launch of the first Crown in 2021, we donated a dozen sample models to their members. We also created content with Leanne and have maintained a great relationship with the team, who featured our story in their annual magazine.

2. Fédération Amazones
The Fédération Amazones began with the desire of women from or living in France’s Overseas Territories (Outre-Mer) to share, raise awareness, and educate on the issue of cancer. Their mission centres on key questions: How does one heal the body and soul? How does one heal their own self-perception and accept the gaze of others when learning to reclaim a body often marked by treatment?
Their Mission: In close collaboration with medical professionals, members of the Federation deploy a series of tools available to women undergoing treatment and their families in Martinique, Guadeloupe, Réunion, French Guiana, New Caledonia, and Paris. Their priorities include informing the general public, raising awareness of the challenges women face in these regions, developing welcoming facilities, providing complementary care activities, and advocating for women's rights.
Our Support: In 2022, during our visit to Martinique, we had the honour of visiting the association to present and donate some of our Crowns, which their members warmly welcomed.

3. Hair Reborn
HAIR REBORN is a charity offering a free haircare service to individuals experiencing hair loss due to cancer chemotherapy treatment at designated salons. The idea came from Lina, founder and breast cancer survivor, and her husband, a hairdresser. For Lina, losing her hair was an unexpected emotional blow.
Their Mission: Hair Reborn is here to help you deal with hair loss from the moment you are told you may lose your hair, right through to styling it as it grows back. Their program is built around four steps:
-
RE-ASSURE: Helping to prepare you to feel more confident while going through your temporary hair loss journey with ongoing advice and support.1
-
RE-START: A first salon visit to trim and tidy your new hair as it begins to grow back, at least 8 weeks after chemotherapy has ended, to prepare for your new hairstyle.2
-
RE-STYLE: 3An appointment at least 8–12 weeks after your Re-Start visit to trim and shape your hair, getting your new hairstyle underway.
-
RE-BORN: This final salon visit is to complete your new manageable hairstyle. They provide advice on managing, colouring, and looking after your new hair.
Our Support: In 2024, we donated several Crown samples for them to showcase during their workshops in hospitals. Our Crowns are now recommended as part of the options women have during their cancer journey.
