New Era, New Crown.

You know that feeling when you do something new with your hair, a fresh cut, a different style, or even just wrapping it up, and suddenly you feel lighter, more confident, and completely yourself? That’s exactly how I felt the first time I wore my new Madras Malka Crown.

I’ve worn headwraps for years with different styles, fabrics, and textures, and I love how each one brings out a different side of me. But the Malka Crown hits differently. There’s a certain energy that comes with it, calm, powerful, and grounded all at once.

I’ve been collecting Malka Headwraps for a while, and the last one I bought was during a very different stage of my life. Back then, I was still figuring out who I wanted to be. Malka always made me feel beautiful, but this time felt special because I’ve grown, and this version of me feels stronger, more centred, and more myself than ever before.

As an educator working with teenagers, I wear my headwraps proudly every day. They’re part of who I am, part of how I show up. I make sure they’re bright, neat, and full of life, because how I feel reflects in the energy I bring to the classroom.

The summer of 2025 was when I really felt a shift within myself, a deep sense of love, joy, and peace. It was a Thursday morning, and I’d been exploring a softer, more feminine style. That day, I decided to wear my Madras Malka Crown to work. I matched my outfit, tied my wrap, looked in the mirror, and smiled. It just felt right.

That day brought so many compliments and smiles, and for the first time in a long while, I felt seen. It wasn’t about the attention; it was about alignment, how what I wore on the outside reflected the peace I felt inside.

When I travelled to Marrakesh, my Malka Crown came with me carefully in my hand luggage, of course. I wore it at Le Jardin Majorelle, surrounded by vibrant blues and greens, and it felt like a full-circle moment. The colours of the crown blended perfectly with the energy of that place, confident, bold, and beautiful.

For me, Malka is more than a brand. It’s a reminder of strength, beauty, and sisterhood. It’s a community of women who embrace their uniqueness and celebrate each other’s light.

I call myself a Malka-ette (and sometimes a Malka Mami) because that’s exactly what being part of this tribe feels like: uplifting, empowering, and full of heart. And that energy starts with Sashaa, her kindness, her creativity, and her commitment to empowering women from all walks of life.

So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to step into your next chapter, this is it. Try something new. Wear that Malka crown. Celebrate yourself because when you wear your Malka Crown with confidence, everything changes!
